Another art giveaway, in exchange for your ideas!

I'm working on creating a new header for the blog and etsy shop, and I need your feedback!  Leave me a comment below on what direction you think I should go with the header design and you could win one of my art works (a $75 value).  I know that all of you out there can contribute something, even if it's a favorite color!  I'm also open to changing "Everything Art and More" if something catchier comes my way.

Feel free to leave me more than one comment, but for the prize drawing, only one submission will be counted.  Winner will be selected randomly from the list of participants on Thursday, Jan. 28 at 9pm PST.

I've attached below the past two header designs for the blog, so you can see what the header used to look like the past few months.  The current design is a temporary look until the new design is revealed.

Thanks for reading, and I look forward to your comments!

  1. I really like what you currently have up. I love gray and orange together and I really like the subtle graphic details. You could maybe make the gray a little bit darker. And perhaps the text should be a bit bigger? At first I thought I preferred the typeface over the hand-written header but I think I just like the larger size. I also think the header could be a bit shorter(height-wise) so you'd be able to see more of the blog on the landing page. Hope this helps!

  3. Hi Cathy! I discovered your work, and then your blog, thanks to etsy.. I'd been meaning to leave a message on previous posts to tell you I was reading your blog with interest regularly, it allows me to discover new things, get ideas without getting lost in the wilds of the internet(for the story I've just turned 30 and in a kind of crisis have decided that I REALLY needed to take up painting and drawing)
As for the header, I agree for a darker grey, but I prefered the more colourful turquoise one..

  4. Karen, thanks for reading and saying hello! And congratulations on turning 30! For what it's worth, I love the thirties.

  5. Hi Karen,
I too, discovered you on ETSY and was inspired instantly. I am so glad I came to your blog -this is my first visit. I will be visiting your blog often now. Those salt works that you found are amazing. I sometimes find myself pouring out a little salt onto the table after a meal and creating pictures so I especially love the small works that are pictured last.
Anyway, my 2 cents about the banners.... The turquoise is my favorite. I think some color is nice- Happier and more inviting. And I love birds photograph. They are hopeful and peaceful looking in that picture. I like the words(findings, thoughts and works of an artsist) on the grey banner better however.
Your paintings on etsy that I saw are so beautiful I think they could work well as part of your banner.
What a great idea to ask for input about your new header. I miss my college art class critiques. I loved getting input about my work.

Thank you for inspiring me today with your work in your etsy shop and with your blog. I will be doing some drawing tonight. :)

  6. oh and I should have said about the salt installations- I especially love the the small close-up pieces -not the small works of art. Small works of art is not the right description for those!

  8. I like the simpler look you have now. All I'd change is the white geometric design. I liked the right side of the birds and tree design. I wonder how that would look with your current design.

  10. i know it's late for me to weigh in but i like the 2nd one with the birds. although the simplicity of your blog topper and number 1 are lovely, i think the second image tells more about what type of work you do...
